we write only because we are.

on giving up.

“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”~ Albert Einstein

“Between you and every goal that you wish to achieve, there is a series of obstacles, and the bigger the goal, the bigger the obstacles. Your decision to be, have and do something out of the ordinary entails facing difficulties and challenges that are out of the ordinary as well. Sometimes your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay with it longer than anyone else.”~ Brian Tracy

so Lord, does hanging on really matter?

Stepping out.

I’m stepping out and jumping into your invisible realm of grace.

Your bottomless, ceiling-less, unrestricted, unconfined and unlimited wide open space of grace.

I’m leaving behind the old and stepping into the new.

So daddyGod, here I am – send me.
My name is Immanuel and I’m your man.

delight in the Lord.

Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. – Psalm 37:4 NASB

Perhaps we don’t feel the intensity of this verse because of its ‘oldish’ language.

‘Delight’ doesn’t really give me a picture of intense joy. (Somehow images of cream cheese were conjured up…)

While there are many ways to express intense joy in words. I find the word ‘enjoy’ most apt in this verse, especially if we were to paraphrase it in our modern day vernacular.

“ENJOY the Lord… and He’ll give you the desires of your heart”

I wonder, if your desire is the Lord himself, wouldn’t it be awesome to see how this verse become a beautiful cycle of divine romance?

Enjoy the Lord, for He is your desire, and because He is your desire–you enjoy the Lord.

I guess David saw that when He wrote the psalms. 🙂

when my heart is overwhel…

when my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. – Psalms 61:2 [ASV]

who has bewitched you?

Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the [Holy] Spirit as the result of obeying the Law and doing its works, or was it by hearing [the message of the Gospel] and believing [it]? [Was it from observing a law of rituals or from a message of faith?]
Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun [your new life spiritually] with the [Holy] Spirit, are you now reaching perfection [by dependence] on the flesh?
Galatians 3:2-3 [AMP]

So it shall be of rest Lord.

I Love Your Presence.

I’ve been listening to ‘Your Presence’ sung by Jenn Johnson from Bethel Church…

And it’s mindblowingly awesome. The song literally explodes with anointing and the love of God.

Be blessed as you watch this. 🙂

red, brown and green.

snow flakes gently kissing the mistletoe.
as little children hang bells on evergreen needles.

as chasing lights, ribbons and streamers fills our houses.
and jolly men sing to christmas carols.

beside the fireplace stands a tree-
humble, quaint, evergreen tree.

While children compete to perform a grand task;
to hang the most important ornament of them all.

On the peak, the crown of the old pine-
gently shines a bright and sparkling star.

Little do the children know,
a story that is left untold.

About the one who was called-
the bright and morning star.

Was lifted high up to be hung on a tree
To bleed and die for you and for me.

So the next time you see a Christmas Tree;
Remember the child from the Nativity.

For He grow up to be a strong man,
To be nailed to a cross to set us free.

So that today we may rejoice and make merry.
Because all of our sins did He carry.

The Messenger

“Cast aside all that binds you. You have a calling, a great purpose. Rise up and take your place. Arise and run, run and take flight.”

humming to silly love songs.

Life’s a tune
That will always change
Change is the only constant we’ll ever know
So ’til we go
We’ll sing

Clara C // Til’ We Go

Ok, I know ‘Til’ We Go’ isn’t exactly a love song. That’s not the point. I like this song, period.

I’ve been trying to write something everyday. I wasn’t as difficult as I thought it’ll be, I guess it’s because I feel no pressure to write something quote-worthy but rather I write to express a single thought for the day.

I don’t think the gift of writing should be limited to the confines of ranting and complains. I think we can write better than that, and everyday there is a thought to be captured on pen and paper-well in this case, keystrokes.

I remember an awesome brother once quoted this and I felt that it reverberated something inside of me.

“I write not to be published, I write because I have something to say.” (Slightly Paraphrased)

There you go, my reason for writing is not for my words to be prints and distributed, I write because I have something to say, a thought to be expressed and shared.

Perhaps one day someone, somewhere might read this and might actually be blessed by the single thought expressed and recorded that day.

But I don’t write for the day, I write to get better at writing, to hone my gift and to use it to somehow one day that I may change the world in my own little way.

like a heart-shaped pin cushion.

pins and needles straight to the soul;
pain and regrets hidden and unknown.

open up the word of His hope,
and allow the light to shine through.

perhaps the path you walk is dim and winding.
and in your hands, a smoking torch.

if you need clarity–He is there.
the light unto your path, the lamp to your feet.

there is no hunger that He cannot feed;
no land to barren that He cannot plant seed.

there is no pain too grievous to heal;
nor plans to cryptic He cannot reveal.

if you feel like your heart is a pin cushion of hurt.
look to the cross, to the nails and His side.

He took all your pins of hurt inside.
and nailed them to cross until He died.
